I recently picked up a few new pieces of gear. Bought a used, but perfect, WO RedCat 51 APO, Gen 2 for a great price.
Replaced my AVX because my Edge HD8 set up with an OAG and 0.7 reducer was taxing the weight limit, and bought a ZWO AM5N, PE200 Pier Extension and TC 40 Tripod. Huge difference in moving the mount around and if proper settings are used, guiding is excellent.
Yeah, I have WO RedCat II, but the big downside is that there is no official EAF mount for it. There are some 3D-printed ones, but they are costly, so I’m looking for a similar OTA with official bracket support. I hope you get a lot more use out of your one. They are a good OTA for imaging if you want to focus it manually. Your new WO setup looks amazing. I would think the AVX could handle that load but seeing as your controller and cameras are ZWO then a ZWO mount makes sense.
I Had an AVX but my Edge HD8 configured at F7 with an OAG and the camera were a little too heavy for the AVX to balance properly and guiding suffered, so the AM5N was the obvious choice, rather than an even heavier mount. I’m not as young as I once was, and the lighter weight of this mount was an attractive option. I’ve seen Brackets for mounting an EAF and they’re not too expensive. I may be getting an EAF for this scope as I have zero desire to swap my EAF from the SCT to the Cat.
